Visit to Hugh Baird

The children created key rings using 3D art technology.

In Art, Year 6 have been learning about the artist Gustav Klimt. As well as imitating his style of sketching, we also used Brushes on the iPads to create pieces inspired by his landscape paintings.

Animate Youth Ministry

The Animate Youth Ministry team held a retreat day with Y6 this week. Their theme was ‘Let your Light Shine’.

BOB Boxes

The children and parents of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary school have been making bird or bat boxes to raise money for CAFOD.

Year 6 Harvest Assembly

Year 6 led the Harvest Assembly, where they thought about the thanking God for the food from around the world.  They also talked about CAFOD and how we can help to make a difference.

After the Harvest Assembly the class used the vegetables from the assembly to make a delicious vegetable soup.  Mmmmm!

The parable of the Prodigal Son

In Year 6 we have been studying the parable of the Prodigal Son.  In groups we recreated the story through drama and freeze framed some of the important parts of the parable.

After we used drama to explore the parable of the Prodigal Son we also set up a court scene to explore the parable further.  Who do you support the Prodigal Son or his older brother?

Shakespeare School Festival

The children in Year 5 and 6 took part in a drama session to support their upcoming performance of Macbeth.
