Friction investigation
In today’s science investigation, the children have been learning about friction and the different force of friction that rough and smooth surfaces create. For our investigation, we built vehicles made from water bottles, balloons and straws that were powered by air. We discovered that vehicles travelling along the smoother surfaces created less friction and the vehicles that travelled across rougher surfaces created more friction.
William Holman Hunt The Light of the World
In today’s RE lesson, the children have been making links between the qualities that Jesus gave to the world through scripture and the art work of William Holman Hun’s the light of the world.
Air resistance investigation
In today’s lesson, Year 5 have been learning about gravity and air resistance. Our investigation led us to make parachutes from polyethene and string and tested the different sized parachutes and the levels of sir resistance and drag that each parachute created.
Creating a press conference with The Queen of the Falls Annie Edson Taylor
Today in our English Lesson, we continued to learn about the adventures of Annie Edson Taylor froom our trxt The Queen of the Falls. In 1901, Annie, a retired teacher decided to ride over the edge of Niagara Falls in a wooden barrel. In today’s lesson, our children prepared and created a press conference to question Annie about her great quest.
CAFOD workshop
Today, our pupils enjoyed an enjoyable and informative workshop with Terry from CAFOD. Pupils had the opportunity to learn about the principles which CAFOD uphold and to learn a great deal about the work of CAFOD and the work that the Catholic Church complete across the world.
