Shrove Tuesday
Reception enjoyed making pancakes today. We followed a recipe, weighed out ingredients and the most important job was, deciding on the toppings they’d like on their pancakes. Also, Reception made different links through Science and our Religious topic about gathering together and celebrating special events such as Shrove Tuesday/ Pancake Day.
Pancake Tuesday
Year 2 had great fun making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. They carefully followed the recipe, chose a topping and ate them up! We spoke about how Shrove Tuesday is celebrated before Ash Wednesday and was chance for people to use up eggs, milk and fats before they started their fast.

Look what Charley made!
In Come and See we have been learning about altar servers and the special role they have in Mass. Charley has recognised that altar servers carefully carry candles to the altar before we read the Gospel. He has kindly brought in a candle he made himself at home. Thank you Charley, it is wonderful!
Identifying odd and even numbers
In maths lessons this week Year 2 have been identifying odd and even numbers. The children have recognised that even numbers can always be divided into two equal groups, and that they all end in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8. Well done to James on his amazing use of mathematical vocabulary in today’s lesson, you really blew us all away!
Developing our gymnastics skills
Year 2 have had lots of fun in their gymnastics lessons and have all participated fully in the challenges set. Well done to Leo who showed great determination and made it all the way to the top of the rope in today’s lesson. You are a superstar!
