Year 3 had a great afternoon creating their own cheerful orchestra. We sketched using line and shape. We then painted our mythical instruments and used pastels to create our portraits.

A special morning
This morning was a truly special one for our Reception class as we welcomed a very special visitor—Father Anton. The children were delighted to meet him and listened with great interest as he spoke about the importance of reconciliation.
Father Anton shared a gentle and meaningful message about living like Jesus, celebrating friendship, and the power of forgiveness. He encouraged the children to always be kind to one another, to say sorry when they’ve made a mistake, and to be ready to forgive others with open hearts.
As part of this special occasion, the school also made a generous donation of food items, which Father Anton will take to the local food bank. This act of giving was a wonderful way for the children to see how we can live out Jesus’ teachings by helping those in need in our wider community.
It was a lovely, reflective morning, and we are so grateful to Father Anton for visiting and sharing such an important message with us.

Well done to our girls’ football team who competed in the Knowsley finals
Well done to our girls’ football team who competed in the Knowsley finals. We were beaten on penalties in the quarter-finals…the girls played brilliantly!
Eco- Warriors
The Eco Warriors joined the Reception children to support them in making fatballs for birds, using pine cones as the base. This engaging activity linked
to science, as the children learned about what birds need to survive and how different types of food provide energy. It also supported design and technology (DT), with the children carefully spreading the fat mixture into the pine cones and adding seeds, developing their fine motor skills and understanding of materials. Through art, they expressed creativity by decorating their pine cones and exploring natural textures, making the activity a rich, cross-curricular learning experience.
Sports Day
What a gorgeous time we had yesterday. Our amazing Reception children gave it their all at Sports Day, showing off not just their running skills, but their wonderful team spirit too. We’re so proud of how they supported one another and celebrated everyone’s efforts. Well done, Reception- you’ve shown us that taking part is what really counts!
The Holy Spirit
The children are learning about the Holy Spirit, and to help them understand, we released two balloons into the sky. One balloon represented the feelings the Apostles had when Jesus died—sadness, fear, and confusion. The other balloon symbolised the joy, hope, and courage they felt when they received the Good News of the Holy Spirit. It was a simple yet powerful way to show the transformation in their hearts and the gift of God’s presence through the Holy Spirit.
