Setting our butterflies free
We’ve been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and have watched our caterpillars grow and change over the last month. Today we handled the butterflies carefully as we set them free.
Jubilee Celebrations
We’ve enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s platinum jubilee this week. We wore the Union Jack colours and had a special lunch together. Each class found out about a decade- we learned about the 1980s.
Cricket Competition
On Tuesday our Y5/6 cricket team competed in the Knowsley cricket competition at Prescot & Odessey Cricket ground. The children represented our school amazingly. They embodied the school characteristics of being proud, respectful, showing great team work and tried their very best. They won 4 out of 5 games and were placed 2nd . Mrs McCarten and Mrs Brown accompanied the children and were extremely proud of their achievements!
Year 4 take part in two Climate Change Workshops
Year 4 were invited to Our Place, Huyton to take part in two Climate Change workshops as part of the Good Business Festivals Youth Summit. Both classes worked with Faith Bebbington a visual artist who specialises in using recycling materials. They put together some wild flowers which will be displayed in the Knowsley Flower Show.
The children also had the opportunity to work with the Knowsley Flower Show Committee to learn about how to plant seeds and then had the opportunity to pot some plants into the flowerbeds.

We visited the Leisure Centre for a fun packed morning session, with Knowsley being the region of culture 2022. We learnt all about flowers and plants; whilst planting a variety of plants and seeds. We also met Faith, a local artist who taught us how to make flowers from recycled materials.
