We’re so talented, now we’ve designed and made cushions.
We had great fun learning some techniques to make a seasonal salad
We had great fun learning some techniques to make a seasonal salad. We used the claw grip, the fork secure, the bridge hold and peeling to prepare the salad. The best part was getting to eat it afterwards.
Year 4 have been making storybooks with moving parts. They loved sharing them with reception this afternoon.
As part of our Design Tecnhology the children have been busy designing and building animal shelters, learning how to plan, create and evaluate their ideas.
Eco- Warriors
The Eco Warriors joined the Reception children to support them in making fatballs for birds, using pine cones as the base. This engaging activity linked
to science, as the children learned about what birds need to survive and how different types of food provide energy. It also supported design and technology (DT), with the children carefully spreading the fat mixture into the pine cones and adding seeds, developing their fine motor skills and understanding of materials. Through art, they expressed creativity by decorating their pine cones and exploring natural textures, making the activity a rich, cross-curricular learning experience.
Year 2 built and compared towers. We explored how structures stand up.
Year 2 investigated and explored real structures
Making Fire Engines
Year 1 have really been enjoying their fire engines unit of DT work. The children enjoyed exploring and creating their own wheels and axis in preparation of creating their own fire engines.
