Mobile Farm Visit
Year 1 had a wonderful afternoon when the mobile farm came to visit our school.
We have been learning about farms in geography and had lots of questions to ask Farmer Natalie.
The children enjoyed cuddles with her rabbits, guinea pig and even the hen – Penny, who had such soft feathers. Farmer Natalie also brought along a goat, a calf and two lambs. The children enjoyed giving the calf her milk and stroking the other animals. What a fantastic afternoon!
In geography we have been using our research skill, collecting and analysing data
Using atlases to locate place names
In geography we have begun researching about our local area

We have used world maps, globes and Google Earth to locate a number of rivers around the world, including those which are significant in the UK and our city. We have reflected on the ways in which these rivers differ.
River Alt Trip
As part of our Geography topic about Rivers, we visited Huyton Wetlands, and various parts of the River Alt to discover the source of the river and we travelled right up to the mouth of the river, in Hightown. We stopped at Knowsley Community College and Croxteth Park along the way, to be able to recognise various stages of the river and we discussed how it had been impacted over time”.
