Y3 – Dr Hill – Archaeologist Visit – November 2024
We had a visit from Dr John Hill, who is an archaeologist and a lecturer at Liverpool university.
He specialises in British Stone Age. We had a great afternoon looking at the artefacts that he brought in to show us but also listening to his stories and his expert knowledge. Lots of great learning opportunities!!
Year 1 created wonderful projects at half-term, with their families, all about toys from the past
Year 1 created wonderful projects at half-term, with their families, all about toys from the past. Children spoke to family members, went to the museum and explored the internet and library.
Examining Artefacts
Year 3 have spent the afternoon as archaeologists looking at and trying to suggest uses for historical artefacts from the Stone Age.
History Workshop
Y2 had a fascinating afternoon learning about the life and achievements of Neil Armstrong. We did some role play, examined genuine artefacts and took part in some astronaut training.

Year 4 enjoyed their history workshop on Friday afternoon
Year 4 enjoyed their history workshop on Friday afternoon. They got the chance to learn more about the Romans, dress up and handle Roman artefacts.
Y1 History Trip
Year 1 had a fantastic day out at the Museum of Liverpool where they explored the galleries and learnt about transport in the past. They also spent time observing and sketching interesting features of the docklands.
