Making Fire Engines
Year 1 have really been enjoying their fire engines unit of DT work. The children enjoyed exploring and creating their own wheels and axis in preparation of creating their own fire engines.

CLC came in to show us how to use a green screen and take videos to produce our own imovies! We followed lots of instructions and learnt lots of new skills. What a great afternoon!
Today we had a visit from Ann Angel who led an assembly about the Jewish festival of Tu B’Shevat – a celebration of trees and a reminder of our common responsibility to care for God’s creation.
She also led workshops with Years 5 and 6 linked to their recent learning on the festivals of Pesach and Rosh Hashanah.
Year 6 had a fantastic time taking part in their first boxing session. They learnt about the stance, basic moves and began using different combinations. whilst learning about the importance of discipline and self-control.
The children explored the meaning behind a cold and frosty morning. The children and I filled up buckets and added water. We left the buckets overnight knowing that the temperature was going to drop. We added in some poms poms so when the water turned from a liquid to a solid, we could break free the pom poms using hammers. The children explored their 5 senses during this science experiment.
Today, Year 4 invited their parents to their Prayer and Liturgy session on Perseverance. We gathered together to remember when times are tough we can turn to God.
