Year 1 Reconciliation Assembly
Year 1 children did an amazing assembly all about Reconciliation. They explored the scripture Luke 19:1-10. They talked all about making good choices, saying sorry and thank you and loving each other. They were amazing, we are so proud.
History Workshop
Y2 had a fascinating afternoon learning about the life and achievements of Neil Armstrong. We did some role play, examined genuine artefacts and took part in some astronaut training.
Supertato
As part of our Literacy scheme this term Reception are reading the story ‘Supertato’. The children received a letter from ‘The chilly peas’ instructing them that the chilly peas needed to be saved from the ice. They left us items to use to set them free: rubber gloves, tweezers, salt, hot water and hammers. The children successfully set the chilly peas free.
Sand Casting
We had the pleasure of the renowned Artist Martin Heron visiting our school. The sessions themed around Huyton’s heritage and what’s important to local people. Reception got the chance to produce their own small sand-casting artwork.
Sports Day
What a wonderful morning we had. The children all did so amazing! They all put so much effort and energy into participating in the races. Well done Reception.
Friendship Assembly
What a fantastic morning for Reception as they performed their first assembly at St. Joseph’s. The children focused the assembly on Friendship which linked to our Reconciliation topic in Come and See.
