Our reception class enjoyed speaking to Sister Bridget during her visit.
We’ve been finding out about Qatar today. We found it on a globe and on a map and realised that it’s near the equator so it’s a very hot country. We looked at flags from other countries and recognised the England flag.
This week we’ve been thinking about kindness and how to be a good friend. We’ve been reading books about differences and wore odd socks to help us to think about how good it is that we’re all different.
At 11am today we stopped and stayed silent. Later we made our own poppies and talked about soldiers who have been hurt or killed in conflict.
As part of our ‘other faiths’ week we learned about Judaism and made a Menorah from play dough.
A dentist visited us today to talk about how to look after our teeth. He gave us all a 2 minute timer to use when we’re brushing our teeth at home.
Our Y6 children enjoy reading with reception children every week.
We read the book Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper then made our own pumpkin soup! We found out what the parts of a pumpkin called then drew pictures of the ingredients.
We went on an Autumn walk to look for signs of the changing season. We identified deciduous trees and evergreen trees too. We used our leaves to make Autumn wreaths.
